The Family Governance Forum is a two-day, interactive experience that connects family leaders and influencers to support the growth, development and success of their families’ legacies. The program is designed to lead participants through learning, discussion and planning to heighten their effectiveness as leaders in the family enterprise and evolve and transform their family governance in the coming year.
Attendees will leave the program with new materials, ideas, resources and insights on a range of family governance activities, as well as a plan to put these learnings into action, fully supported throughout the program by peer insight and advisor expertise.
2019 Program Theme | Accelerate: Building Momentum in Family Governance
As families change by welcoming new members and new generations, active communication and participation are essential to building family cohesion. An effective family governance process can provide the essential forum and foundation for constructive discussion and problem solving that places the culture, values and goals of the family on the same plane as that of the business. Over the course of this program, attendees will gain new insights on developing their family governance system, learn from successes and struggles of other families, and integrate their learnings into a work plan based on their individual goals for governance with action steps to put into place in the year to come.
Who Should Attend:
This session is designed as an advanced program for families that have been engaging in formal family governance activities for a year or more. To qualify, your family must be (at minimum) having regular family meetings that devote time to family education and/or cohesion. Many attendees also have more advanced including family councils, assemblies, committees, etc.
Please note: The Family Governance Forum is designed to support the success of leaders in the family governance system through learning, new ideas and experience exchange with other participants. To ensure the most productive environment for this advanced session, attendance is limited to:
Family members serving in recognized leadership roles in family governance, decision making, and cohesion, and
Key non-family executives whose job function includes leadership in these areas.

Family foundation leaders
In addition, certain non-family employees with responsibility in family education or cohesion may qualify to attend, including:
Single family office executives
Human resources/human capital executives
To ensure all attendees derive optimum value from the program, attendance is restricted to 60 attendees and is subject to approval by conference organizers.
