Seth Lapine

Seth Lapine is a consultant with The Family Business Consulting Group and an experienced advisor, executive, and business owner with expertise in strategy, leadership development, sales, and marketing. Before launching his consulting practice, Seth successfully transformed a regional family business into a global agency, significantly increasing its enterprise value. As a mentor and advisor to business leaders and military and intelligence professionals, he enjoys the challenging yet rewarding work of collaborating with business owners and operators to transform their family-owned enterprises.

Seth was an owner-operator of his family’s sales and marketing services company for 27 years. During that time, he and his brother led the company through a period of remarkable growth and evolution, culminating in the sale of the business in 2022. Along the way, Seth also advised more than two dozen other family-owned and operated businesses.

Today, his consulting work focuses on enhancing communication among family members, planning and executing succession, developing and mentoring leadership, and establishing strong corporate and board-level governance. With nearly three decades of experience working in and with family businesses, Seth helps families and their enterprises maximize their potential while preserving and strengthening relationships.

Beyond his corporate career, Seth served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, both on active duty and in the reserves. His military background has provided him with exceptional crisis management skills and a profound understanding of leadership. Having led Marines through complex operations across multiple continents, Seth brings a disciplined and strategic perspective to leadership development, management, and organizational culture. Seth earned his BA in political science and economics from Franklin & Marshall College and his MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU). He is also a graduate of the Families in Business: Generation to Generation executive education program at Harvard Business School.
