David Karofsky Joins FBCG Ownership Group
“We are proud to announce that David Karofsky has become part of our ownership team,” said Steve McClure, principal owner and chair of The Family Business Consulting Group. “David has been an active contributor to our firm in many ways, including collaborating with many of us on client work, enhancing and expanding FBCG's consulting tools and most recently, helping our team pivot to respond to current client needs.”
David joined FBCG in 2017 with over 25 years of experience coaching and consulting to individuals, families and companies to develop better cross-team communication and build alignment among the senior management team. His client work is focused on executing the transition of ownership and leadership, professional development, conflict resolution, strategic planning and forming governance structures for family and closely-held businesses.
Prior to working with The Family Business Consulting Group, David worked in his own family business consulting practice with his father, Paul for eight years. The father-son team are the authors of So You’re in the Family Business: A Guide to Sustainability.
His interest in family business consulting was launched with his course work in family business dynamics at the Cambridge Center for Creative Enterprise. David’s work helping corporate executives develop superior listening and communication skills was honed by his professional training in executive team building, strategic decision making, effective communication, managing people, matrix management, and performance enhancement. David earned Fellow status from the Family Firm Institute in 2019 by demonstrating ongoing expertise and commitment to the field of family enterprise.
Established in 1994, The Family Business Consulting Group’s ownership group today includes Craig Aronoff, Stephen McClure, Joe Schmieder, Greg Greenleaf, Dana Telford, Michael Fassler, Stephanie Brun de Pontet, Barb Dartt and David Karofsky.
Our intention is similar to that of many of the family businesses we serve: to perpetuate The Family Business Consulting Group across generations by constantly identifying and attracting outstanding professionals and continuously facilitating their improvement while reinvesting in our organization, methods and intellectual capital.
Welcome to your new leadership role, David!
